Sprouts Farmers Market interview questions

The interview process was fairly good. It took about 7 minutes and asked general interview questions and I was hired on the spot. This is the easiest interview I've ever had.

I had multiple conversations with hiring manager over a 2 week span. 6 emails and 3 phone conversations. Each time she said I was applying for store manager. I take a day off of work for in person interview and first thing the regional says is they are not hiring a store manager. Why would the hiring manager tell me they were??I wasted time and a day of work for nothing.
