I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SpaceX (Hawthorne, CA)
Interview
Recruiter contacted me and promptly called me for a phone screening.
Two more phone screenings with Hiring Manager, then a member of the team for the role. Basic questions about experience here, going deep on a few things.
On-Site invitation given. On-Site interview involved an initial presentation with 8 people in the room (including a VP), which involved some questioning to probe into my knowledge and role on the project, and some questions about my thought process on different decisions. Then proceeded to 6 individual interviews with each of the presentation attendees, minus the VP.

Question 1
If a tapered shaft has a torque applied to the larger end, and the stress on the shaft is to remain uniform throughout the cross section, how will the thickness change from the large end to the small end?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at SpaceX
Interview
First got a call from HR and was asked some basic engineering questions. After that got an assessment sheet to fill out with basic QC questions. Next phone interview was background and behavioral questions. The third phone interview was tough. Know your fundamentals (EE and ME) they WILL ask you random engineering knowledge questions. I got 2:3 "correct". They will also ask a brain teaser that I got right. I thought all the interviews went ok but they must have a 100% question correct criteria as I got the "we'll pass" email 2 weeks later. Entire process took about a month so settle in.
