I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Slack
Interview
Applied online - received an e-mail a few days later to schedule the phone interview. Pretty standard in the set up. The actual interview was a joke - recruiter was 10 minutes late in calling and told me she had a hard stop after 20 minutes. She rushed through her part and her questions for me weren't clearly articulated. I had to ask lots of clarifying questions to make sure I understood what she was asking. I had no time for questions of my own. The interview felt like amateur hour and was a waste of time.

Question 1
it started 10 minutes late and was very rushed - tell me about your background, tell about a time when you_______ , why do you want to work at slack, etc... No time for me to ask questions.
it was a short interview, with basic behavioral questions and questions about the company. it is a much newer internship, but the interviewer answered my questions the best she could.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Slack
Interview
Got a referral from a friend at slack, they took almost a month to get the process started. The first step is a call with a recruiter where they ask you about your experience and why you want to work with Slack. The recruiter kept on asking me again and again on as to why I want to join slack. The next round was with hiring manager, felt like I was talking with a robot, was told it would be casual talk about my experience, instead, I got STAR based questions which threw me off, she would often interrupt me and would not let me finish my question. I also got a system design question.
