I went through the Graduate Program recruitment in Fall of 2014. I started by applying to the program online in September and was sent two brief online assessments to complete. One tested personality-type decision making and the other basic math skills (the test is incredibly short in time though so difficult to complete). After passing this I completed a phone interview - focused on past experiences and CAR (capacity, achievment, relationship). I was then invited to a Shell Recruitment Day. The day itself was excellent. I completed the day with 5 others. The assessors were all employees at Shell and spent the whole day with us, rotating for each activity. We started with an online email simulation (mostly multiple choice and a short written assignment) and then a group case study activity. We completed a reflection interview regarding the two previous activities. There was then an individual case study (given some info, what decision would you make and why) and finally a general interview (very similar to the phone interview). I passed the Recruitment Day and was placed in a "pool of candidates" available for hire. At the beginning, it seemed very hopeful that I would be placed somewhere. For a while, updates were frequent and I was even sent a job description for a possible placement. Now (a year later), I have not received any updates in several months. I have heard of this happening to several of my classmates, successfully completing the recruitment only to not receive an offer. Recruitment Day was an excellent experience and I would definitely do it again, but the communication and follow-through has been less than great.
