I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sephora (Newark, NJ) in Nov 2012
Interview
Very short in my personal experience, but in my time there I have seen lengthy one on one interviews, and group interviews with several applicants for one interviewer. There were also times when there were several applicants being interviewed by several interviewers at one time, this usually happens during a job fair where several Sephora Store Directors and District Managers are present in order to recruit for several locations.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were several questions asked. The key thing to look up is the core values of Sephora, brush up on your makeup knowledge, but most importantly, brush up on your customer service answers to really wow the interviewer.
-Why do you want to work for Sephora?
-Do you know who our parent company is?
-Do you have any previous retail experience of at least one year?
-How do you deal with a client complaint?
-Are you passionate about client service? How so?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sephora
Interview
After coming into the store and speaking with an associate, I was encouraged to apply. After sending my application, I was contacted the next day and we scheduled an interview. I met two members of the Sephora team at a nearby cafe lobby and they interviewed me over coffee. One was a manager I had met in-store, and the other was one that I had not met. It was just the three of us- this surprised me because everything I had seen online pointed to group interviews.
