I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Sephora in Oct 2015
Interview
I applied online on a Monday and received a call that Wednesday from the assistant manager. She asked why I chose to apply at sephora, if I had retail experience, what my availability was like, and if I was going home for the holidays(because it is a seasonal position). At the end of the call she invited me to a group interview the following friday with the manager of the store. The interview was held at the starbucks in the mall, it was supposed to be a group interview of 6 but 4 people didn't show(very unusual). The manager was really nice, I was the first to show up so we chatted until the second girl came then he asked us both to tell him about our selves. He also asked why we chose sephora, and my least favorite or favorite customer I had dealt with at my last job. He asked us if we had questions and that's a key thing, definitely ask questions! I asked what tips he would give to a new hire to help them be successful at sephora and why he chose sephora out of all the cosmetic companies to work with and what made him stay with the company for so long(he had mentioned he was with the company for 10 years). The interview was about 40 minutes long. I work black skinny jeans, a black chiffon top, and black booties. They called me the following wednesday for a second interview that friday that was then rescheduled for the following monday. I had a one on one with the assistant manager in store where she asked why Sephora, what my hobbies were, what I was studying in school, then went over my availability again as well as seeing if I was going home for the holidays. I told her I would be staying for thanksgiving but that I wanted to go home for at least a week for christmas because my residence hall would be closed(I'm a college student). She told me that technically they aren't supposed to hire people who request holidays off but she said it shouldn't be a problem. She then offered me a job and I accepted! With holiday hires they want to make sure you have customer service experience and that you have retail experience even if its not with makeup.

Interview
I applied at sephora and sephora inside jcpenny around the same time.
I got a call from sephora inside jcpenny about 4 months after applying. They called me to schedule an interview for seasonal. I met with the manager and was asked simple questions. Just one on one. Lasted about 20 minutes. She told me she would call me for the second interview by Monday.
She called me on Wednesday thank god! I got so upset that I didn't get a call but I think it's because she had a lot of interviews for the holidays.
I scheduled my second interview. I met with one of the seniors at sephora and had a one on one with her. She asked me to sell any product to her so I chose a foundation. Then she asked me to sell skincare to her, based on what she was looking for. It was a lot of pressure to be put on the spot with no training but I guess I did ok since they called me back a few days later telling me I got the job.
They offered me 10 dollars an hour and I'm ok with that. I accepted the offer. Just waiting to get my schedule!

Interview
I applied 2 weeks prior to getting a phone call to come in to a group interview. I was expecting a lot of questions but she basically just introduced Sephora and JCP. I was asked to introduce myself and my availability. Immediately after I was offered the job. Easiest interview I've ever had.
