Submitted for two positions online. Self-scheduled a screening call with a recruiter. We agreed my skillset was larger than the positions. Recruiter promised to get me a phone call with a manager he knew who could use my work. Everything was going fine. Until I mentioned my current salary. I never not that phone call with the manager. I think the recruiter is a nice guy. But I don't think they were honest with me about what they were willing to pay for skills of my level. I know people I used to work with who went to SAS for a time and many of them have left. You hear the same stories about the piano in the cafeteria and sub-standard pay. My impression is they are under threat from AI and other avenues that can do what they are doing. I think they are probably a good company to work for, but I had a bad experience.
