Initial interview involved a role play of cold calling a potential lead. The second part involved cold/warm calling an existing customer about SAS products.
The process took 2 months. I interviewed at SAS in Mar 2011
Interview
Interview process here was pretty standard. Had a phone conversation with my potential manager and based off that, I was brought in for a round of interviews.
The first round was with my manager, 1:1 and we discussed all the standard topics of an AE interview. Past performance, career arc, goals, interest in SAS, etc.
The 2nd round was with his manager, 1:1 and it was confirmation of some of the things I discussed in the first interview and further discussion.
The 3rd round was with the existing Sales team, consisted of 3 reps. This was very interesting, most companies don't take the time to do this step. It helped this job at SAS stand out from others that I was pursuing. It came across at the time thtat this would carry just as much weight as the 1:1 interviews and that proved to be true
Final step was interviewing with the VP of the group and it was clear I had already earned the offer and this was confirmation that I wanted to move forward.
