I applied online. I interviewed at S&P Global (New York, NY) in Dec 2020
Interview
HR screening interview followed by Hiring manager interview. First the Acquisition partner didn't respond after the screening call. The hiring manager wanted to put me on hold while they were doing first round of interviews with other candidates. Then after several weeks they finally decided to do my first interview. In this round hiring manager seemed disinterested and as if she has already made up her mind about who to go forward with.
Then comes the strange question of asking for references from the current company. The interviewer mentioned already checking with some of the former collogues from my previous employer about me. It seemed like interview was just a placeholder, they only wanted to hear a strong recommendation.
In the end she asked me to share the name of the person who she can speak with about my last position. It is not the best practice to ask for references before the interview process is completed.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is the agile process you follow as a business analyst?
What is the name of the project that you are working on, with the last employer?
Can you provide a reference from the current company?
I received a call back after applying online. The first round went smooth. The HR reached out to me for salary expectations before processing my application further. Although this role was advertised to have competitive salary it turned out to be the biggest cheapskate.
Post that conversation with HR, I never heard back on the feedback of the first round. The HR basically ghosted me.

The process is notably straightforward and lacks complexity, making it accessible for those who are well-prepared and have a solid understanding of their skill set. It is crucial to have a thorough preparation and a deep familiarity with one's own capabilities. Specifically, if the context involves technical requirements, it is imperative to have an in-depth knowledge of one's technical expertise. This preparation will not only smooth the process but also enhance one's ability to navigate through it with confidence and ease.
