The role was very different from what I expected an SDR position to be. Rather than focusing primarily on prospecting, client engagement, and pipeline generation, much of the work centred on renewals, administrative tasks, and Salesforce management. Opportunities to develop core SDR skills or engage directly with clients felt limited, despite expectations around activity and performance.
I also found the management style frustrating. In my experience, communication often felt overly focused on micromanagement rather than coaching and professional development. I didn't feel supported, and I found it difficult to raise concerns or challenge decisions constructively.
Following my departure, I understand the compensation structure changed from commission to a bonus model, with higher targets. From what I've been told, this made it more difficult to earn variable compensation than under the previous structure.
Overall, I found the team to be poorly organised, and the role did not provide the level of sales experience or career development I was hoping for. If you're looking for a traditional SDR position focused on business development and customer engagement, I'd encourage you to ask detailed questions about the day-to-day responsibilities and performance expectations before accepting an offer.onus after tax.
