Interview
Simple online application with some questions. Followed by numerical and verbal online test. After this was invited to assessment centre in Derby.
At the assessment centre had to redo the numerical test, then presentation about myself which I had prepared in advance and competency interview. After this, group exercise where we had to build a tower using paper, cups etc costing our material. After lunch technical interview where they ask you a question about a jet engine and a question about the performance of materials (stress/strain).

Interview
CV and Covering letter, then an Assessment Centre. The assessment centre consisted of: a presentation about yourself, followed by a competency interview. Then psychometric tests, then a group assessment. This was followed by lunch and a chance to chat with members of staff, and then finally an 'application of knowledge' interview.

Question 1
The competency interview surprised me as it was mainly questions about rolls royce, things like who are their customers, why rolls royce and things like that. I only had two competency questions at the end and i think one was about how i have influenced a decision or influenced someone. The psychometric tests were okay, they are very similar to the practice tests they send out so make sure you practice them. The group assessment was three different business scenarios that you would have to look at and pitch one of the ideas to the assessors. Unfortunately this task did not go well for me, i was put on the accounting part of the task, and at that point i should have made a point to change the role as accounting isn't my strongest point. Therefore this left me unable to present all the information that was needed regarding the finance and was quite embarrassing and frustrating. Make sure you work well as a team, but also make sure that you understand the task and work as a group to ensure that everyone is doing a role that they are comfortable with. I then had an application of knowledge interview, which asked a lot of questions about rolls royce, the share price, what things in the news cause challenges for the company, what factors effect the company, what do you think you would be doing on a day to day basis in the role etc.

Interview
I got the interview through meeting a college recruiter on my campus. The next day I had an hour long phone interview. The college recruiter was friendly and the phone interviewer was very helpful in explaining some of the questions. The next step is to be invited to an assessment day for more interviews and some critical thinking / project tests.
