I arrived 10 minutes early, the interview overall took 2 hours and was laid back and very funny. Naturally during the first 20 mins I was nervous but the managers opened us up by going around the circle and asking us to introduce ourselves and to tell the group an embarrassing moment in our lives. The group consisted of 25 people. Everyone wore casual but stylish clothes (river island style) no formal wear such as heels or dress shoes. Then we talked about river island for a bit and were asked to pair up and introduce ourselves to each other and talk about why we wanted to work for river island. My partner had to make a presentation on me, why I want to work there and vice versa. Then we were put into groups of 5 to do a role play on what good customer service is. It was pretty basic and I laughed a lot. Everyone was friendly and outgoing. The mangers were really nice and not stuck up at all. Overall it was a positive experience, they answered all my questions without being asked, e.g. The 40% discount and the £165 (or something like that) a month that we get for our uniforms. We were asked to bring in our cvs but I brought in a photocopy of my passport as well as national insurance number just to be on the safe side. At this particular interview they said they would call back the next day to let us know if we were successful, and that the induction would start the following week, but for every interview it's different. I went in store to hand in my cv and after chatting a bit with the manager, she asked me to come for an interview which was being held a few days later.
