I applied online. I interviewed at River Island (Lincoln, Inglaterra)
Interview
It was friendly and comfortable but also felt slightly awkward as I was with a group of people. Being a shy person meant that I couldn't answer any of the questions and the group conversation was dominated by the more confident people.
We went in for an evening recruitment process and gathered around on chairs at the back of the store where the shoes were. We went around and introduced ourselves and said an interesting fact about ourselves before then discussing the job and what it entails. We then had to do a role playing exercise where we had to go in pairs and play through a scenario - one person was the customer and you had to go over to them and ask if they were okay. The other then had to come up with a problem, such as the shoes they want aren't in the right size.
It was an okay experience but wish I had been able to show how much I'd prepared for the interview by having a one on one because I would have felt easier discussing the job.

Question 1
Introduce yourself and say three interesting facts about yourself
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at River Island (Worcester, Inglaterra) in Sep 2016
Interview
The online application was really simple and quick. I was then invited to a group interview the following week. There were about 8 or 9 of us, all girls except one boy. Once we had introduced ourselves and said something interesting about ourselves we were then asked to work with the person sitting next to us and go and find an outfit on the shop floor that a customer could wear from day to night. My partner and I found a skirt, top, boots, bag and coat that could be worn during the day with tights and picked up some jewellery that could be added when the customer went out in the evening (taking tights and coat off for the evening). Our brief was very vague so everybody else decided that the client was a student so picked out something they would typically wear, however, my partner and I decided that the customer worked in an office so our outfit was a bit more formal and the interviewer was pleased that we had done something different. This exercise was really fun just make sure you follow trends, for example we chose a choker necklace and a-line skirt and other people chose bomber jackets.
We were then asked to continue working in our pairs and write on a sheet of paper what we could bring to River Island and what we thought good customer service was. We were then asked our availability especially over Christmas.
I was called about 4 days later with feedback and offered a temporary job until the end of December.
The main thing to stress is to speak up and volunteer first etc as the interviewer said I was a bit quiet to begin with so they gave the permanent job to someone else, presumably someone who spoke more than I did,
