Friendly interview in showroom with Manager and assistant manager. Customers were walking around during interview. Sales personal didn't seem very attentive. Questions seemed somewhat repetitive and too standard (not fully job related). Folllowed up via email but vnever heard back.
I got invited to the store for an interview and had to take and Autocad test on a lab top. The base pay and hours offered where awful, but seemed like some growth. It was half my current rate I made so I was not excited about that. Thought is would be interesting place to work.
The store Is beautiful but located in the mall, so they kept mall hours.
The hiring manager emailed me directly to set up an interview. We settled on a time, and I began to prepare for the phone interview scheduled for 3 business days later. On the day, I get an email a few minutes after the interview was supposed to start, saying "something came up" and can we reschedule for later in the week. I responded back with a sincere understanding and additional availability for a reschedule. After a week goes by with no contact, I followed up with a second email to make sure that my response was received, and a note that I was looking forward to rescheduling the interview. Another week with no contact, I called the store to follow up but was not able to talk to the Gallery Curator, so I left a message. I received an email a short while later to say that offers were already extended to candidates and that I would be "kept on file" if something should open up in the future.
I was invited to interview for a position I was really excited about but then never got the chance. I understand it was a very competitive position with many applicants, but I felt like I was given the run around.
