Philz Coffee interview questions

two phone interviews, a video application telling them why you love Philz coffee, and two in-person interviews with the store leader and the district leader. Very casual phone interviews asking your experience and background and why you want to work for the company. They also ask about your culture since they believe in diversity in their community and the in-person interviews are mainly the same questions. The more friendly you are, the higher the chance you'll get in, they appreciate friendly jokes and less formal answers but don't forget that you still have to be professional when answering their questions and explaining yourself.

I applied online for a barista position in Berkeley, a recruiter got back to me the same day, I scheduled a video interview with her for the following day and was informed I didn't pass the 1st screen. The screen was about 20 minutes and it was basically a conversation with someone really bubbly who was expecting you to be the exact same (I tried to fake enthusiasm about customer service but, yeah). Some of us just want jobs and to provide a tasty cup of coffee in an efficient manner, not every employee nor customer is super into all the corporate fan fare about "life experiences at Philz" like relax...
