I received a home task with tabular data and a prediction task.
Then I had an interview on the home task where we talked about what I did and the choices I made.
Then, I had another interview with the manager, where they gave me a business problem and asked me what I would do.

Karat interview is LAME. I am a .NET developer, but I can hold my own in Java with a little practice. I mentioned this to everyone involved. I get to the Karat interview and I get close to an 8 minute explanation of the programming problem and I have 30 minutes to solve it. During those 30 minutes, you have to explain everything you are doing while you are typing. Talk and type 100% of the time. Sorry, I just cannot do that. When I would stop talking, I would get a threatening remark from the Karat person telling me he can "write me up" for acting suspicious if I don't tell him exactly what I'm doing. Just completely harassing and unnecessary. I asked a question about the web based IDE and if I can create a separate class file, but the guy didn't even know!!! Turns out, the guy didn't even know Java (he said this later)!!!
Since I am a .NET guy, I had to remind myself how Java handles a collection, so I even pasted in an exact code snippet into the environment and I got a syntax error in that IDE.
As to the question, it wasn't technically difficult but it did require several nested loops and flags to be set. Perhaps I could have done it better with more than 20 or so minutes, but while trying to figure out an IDE I've never used and having a guy constantly snapping at me to be talking, I just lost any interest in this position with about 2 minutes left in the interview. PayPal is supposedly a powerhouse in fintech, but they farm out interviews to people that don't even know the language they are judging competence.

Was supposed to be a three step interview. Recruiter > Hiring Manager Interview > Presentation, with case study
The recruiter interview went okay, as you’d expect it to go. Now on to the hiring manager interview, that was easily the most uncomfortable and worst interview i have ever experienced. The hiring manager came in unprepared and was falling asleep in the interview. the interview was supposed to be more behavioural, but as the hiring manager came in unprepared he was just spitting out questions and attempting to counter everything said. He was drinking a celsius energy drinking and his eyes kept closing as I was answering questions, so he kept asking the same questions I had already answered, all in all it was a very nasty experience, as you’d expect hours went into preparing for the interview, and he clearly didn’t take it seriously.
had the hiring manager interview in January and didn’t hear back on the decision to not move forward till March. The interview was unprofessional and to be frank disheartening
