I applied through college or university. I interviewed at PayPal (Bengaluru)
Interview
The interview mainly focused on assessing ML fundamentals, SQL and basic python. I was also asked to build a regression model which involved some light data cleanup before building the model.
The interviewer seemed disinterested from the start and wasn't dressed professionally which was disappointing.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me how I would build a regression model from scratch with raw data.

First is a HR screening interview.
Following this is a home assignment which is binary classification task which was pretty easy.
Next is an on-site (technical) interview where you discuss past projects and review the home assignment.
Next is a case study interview.
Finally there is a senior manager interview.
After waiting weeks with no update (and no reply to my follow up email), I eventually received a rejection email — a fake generic reason with no valuable feedback, no phone call. For a company of PayPal’s size, this felt disrespectful to candidates who invest significant time and effort (also no reimbursement for travelling all the way to the on-site).
However, my major complaint is that some interviewers were quite unprofessional. During my (virtual) case study interview, both interviewers seemed disengaged, One in particular came off as extremely disinterested and rude from the start. He was wearing shorts in the office, and for most of the interview, he had his legs kicked up on the table and leaned back (hard to tell if he was even listening). It was a strange experience and I felt his behaviour was very unprofessional and I felt somewhat uncomfortable...
