Attended the open house today in Cincinnati. This airline is ridiculous. They herd you into a room and show you a presentation. Then you take a break. Then they call you back into the room in groups of 10 (we only had like 30 people). They're set up at a long table like American Idol judges and they call you up one at a time to answer a stupid question that usually has zero to do with the job and you read from part of the safety demo.
There were people in my group that couldn't even read the card properly that got called back to the next part of the interview. People who gave BS answers or didn't even really answer the question got called back too.
Despite being the first person there and prepared for the interview and thinking I nailed it, for some reason, I was sent home.
They don't even look at your résumé or speak to you. They base their judgment on seeing you talk for like 2 minutes. It's stupid.
So thanks for wasting my time and money. Other airlines at least fly you out and you get a chance to prove yourself. This airline is a total joke.
My advice to PSA: stop trying to talk people out of working for you at the beginning of the interview. Five candidates a chance to actually speak with someone or at the very least, come up with questions to ask at the beginning that aren't irrelevant like "what historical figure would you have dinner with and why?" That and the other questions you asked the candidates in NO WAY allows you to find out whether or not we would be right for the job. And if you're not going to fix your broken interview tactics, at the very least you could offer people accommodations instead of wasting our money for a 2 minute joke.
