I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Opendoor (Las Vegas, NV) in Oct 2016
Interview
Intense, 4 round interview. over two days. They started with the easier "personality and team fit" interviews and became more skill and experienced based. Very honest and encouraging. I was so sold on this company and HAD to join the team.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Opendoor (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2017
Interview
I started as a contractor/tasker and was familiar with a couple of people within the company so I didn't actually interview for the position when I was offered a full-time employment as a Coordinator
The process starts with a phone screen, which is easy enough as long as you've done some basic research on the company. The next step is a technical screen with another engineer, who will ask you to solve their favorite programming problem. As others have noted, getting to the correct solution doesn't mean you will pass. Their standards seem arbitrary to say the least; it's not clear what they're looking for. On the positive side, all involved were timely and polite.
