Screening interview on the phone, went well, hiring manager described next steps to me and it seemed like I was moving on to the next round. Got an email a while later saying I didn't qualify even though the interview went very well
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at OpenTable (Londres, Inglaterra) in Nov 2018
Interview
The first step was a technical test of a robot wars problem to be done in your own time.
I passed this one and the next step was a 3 hour face to face interview.
There was 1.5 hours of technical interview, 45 minutes to go through the exercise and extend it which was trivial, then another 45 minutes discussion on what I had been working on, which wasn't particularly technical at all. There was a 1 hour cultural interview with product owners with a focus on remote communication with American offices. The last 30 minutes was with an engineering manager, consisted of a few cliché questions like where do you see yourself in x years and an explanation of compensation which seemed generous due to shares.
I didn't receive an offer, the feedback I received was that the role didn't match my skills (the London teams are product focused as opposed to platform) and I didn't show enthusiasm for OpenTable.

Funny Experience.
Got a mail from HR to talk to HM, forgot that mail and after 2 weeks got another mail saying if you wont respond to this mail, they will close my application, still I didnt respond to it..
Then one day all of a sudden got a mail, saying that they have closed the role I had applied to but HM wanna talk to me about another role... and we are arranging a telephonic with HM at 4 pm, still I did not respond ... after 4 I got another mail saying that the telephonic round has been rescheduled at 5... enough of that so I finally responded saying I am available at 5:15 and shared my cell number.
At 5:15, a guy calls himself as HM, talks like HR calls me and starts with HR question and visa .. Appears, he was looking for testers ... after 45 mins of round.... we both we certain I am above the skill he is looking for...
Next day received a mail from HR, that "We will not be able to provide visa sponsorship for this role and therefore we will not be able to move forward with your application ".. When we made sufficiently clear that I dont even need visa sponsorship..
Thats the sign of work environment...
