I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Nielsen (Schaumburg, IL) in May 2016
Interview
Two phone interviews and one in person interview with the Manager. The interview was in Schaumburg at Nielsen. We talked for more than an hour about my previous experience and what they needed for the position. He was easy to talk to.
They basically need to know if you are comfortable knocking at doors and working at the times families are at home (4p.m and ahead and weekends).

Question 1
Have you heard about Nielsen before?
What are the three applications you use more in your phone? (interesting question...)
I applied online. I interviewed at Nielsen (Norfolk, VA) in Sep 2017
Interview
There were basic sales job interview questions that the mgr read from a computer. Very easy for an experienced professional. I was allowed to ask some questions at the end which were probably too tough for the mgr. It was about an hour in the lobby of a hotel. I am certain there was some note taken of the amount of sales experience I have (actually my age since I was about 15-20 years older then the mgr) which made me obviously qualified for the position. I was told about the next step - a phone screening with the mgr and the manager's boss - and understood that I would be advanced to this next step. Unexpectedly, I was not.
I attempted to contact the HR rep t hernandez and the mgr I interviewed with by email since I had the HR person's email address from planning the interview. All of a sudden, the HR rep's email is no good like she left the company. My attempts to follow up with the mgr met the same fate as if they both disappeared from the company. I wanted to know how I was not even a finalist as I was led to believe.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Nielsen (Newport News, VA) in Mar 2016
Interview
Spoke with a Nielsen Recruiter. Very nice lady. Briefed and vetted me on basic qualifications and screened my interest. She made a decision to refer me to the Regional Manager for in person interview. Most importantly, she told me what to expect and ensured I understood the process.

Question 1
Met with the Regional Manager. She was very professional and asked several questions related to knowledge of the job, company and how one would react in certain situations. Some role playing as well, but this was very informative. Sales Training is always good no matter what form it takes. I think I did well and am well qualified though I may not be the best candidate. I think the company should choose the best fit for them and I was very honored to have been chosen for interview.
