I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at New York Life (Cincinnati, OH) in Oct 2014
Interview
This was a 3 step interview process.
During the initial interview I was asked basic questions about my experience and background.
The second interview was a small panel of two interviewers (which I was not warned about) where I asked to come prepared with a detailed recruitment plan. This request was given with less than 24 hours to turn the recruitment plan around. This was a test, which I was later told, to check my ability to flow to work and come prepared.
The final interview was a review salary and benefits, which were not at all straightforward.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What type of qualities do you think make a good salesperson?
Very easy 10
minute conversation about the position, your job duties, as well as learning about the company. The senior partner was very nice and understanding about having a flexible schedule with this position.
Was led through a variety of steps and questionnaires like a personality test. Had to identify if I had any close connections to reach out to in order to begin my recruiting clientele.

Over the phone; that was it. The manager who hired me is the one who cold called me and emailed me and is ultimately the one who interviewed and hired me.
