I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at New York Life (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2021
Interview
Phone call pitching the greatest opportunity on earth. Long application with personality test, background check. If you question the hiring manager you get gas lit and told you are missing out on a very lucrative opportunity if you question their process. Must have 100 leads to even be considered for this awesome opportunity.

Question 1
How many people do you have in your network that you can start selling to? You need at least 100 because we want you to be successful like us.
Guides you to thinking you are helping people when you really will not be; slightly intimidating and awkward. Would not recommend for most people, but gave interviewing experience nonetheless (which is always great)
Weird. First in a giant group second they wanted 10 new consumers. It’s a pyramid scheme. Plus there’s no real salary. It seemed almost desperate. Alarm bells went off and I declined further interviews.
I applied online. I interviewed at New York Life in Apr 2025
Interview
The initial round was over zoom. They then make you go to a 3 hour seminar to discuss the company and position. If you want to move forward, you have to do an unpaid 50 hour training online. If you don't pass the test, that's it. You have to front the $100 for the test, they pay you back if hired. The job is completely commissioned, no salary, so if you aren't selling, you don't get anything. You also have to find your own clients. One of the very disturbing questions I was asked at the interview was how would I source customers. There aren't that many people looking for life and death insurance.

How will you find wealthy clients who need life and death insurance?
