I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at New York Life (New York, NY) in Nov 2012
Interview
Phone interview in early October, did not hear back for a while and then was called for an on-site interview set for mid-November. Then took a little over a month to hear back that I was offered the position, for their Westchester campus with 3 other interns north of Manhattan instead of the New York Life Building where the other 10 interns were assigned.

Question 1
What was your most difficult question you've had to answer today in your interviews, and why?
If a pandemic were to arise and much of the population across the nation died from it as a result, what would you expect to happen to our company's sales and what would happen to our profit?
Approximately 30 minute phone interview. We both gave each other a brief introduction and he proceeded to ask mostly behavioral questions. Very few company specific questions like why New York Life.

Question 1
Why New York Life? Describe a time when you faced a challenge and how you overcame it.
My interviewers were rude and unprofessional during the entire interview. Even worse, they ask the same type of questions in every single session. The whole process was a waste of time. Would not recommend doing an internship with them since the culture seems so bad.
Great! It took 3 weeks for them to reject me. It was a 2.5hrs interview with 6 people from different teams. Make sure to review some basic insurance concepts because they will ask you during the interview.
