I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal in Nov 2015
Interview
After I submit my resume, I had phone interview with HR first and then I talked through phone with hiring manager. The interview was very kind and informative. Since I didn't know well about the terminology and industry, the hiring manager explained kindly about them. Even if I couldn't get accepted, it was nice to talk to him.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
With HR representative - General information (GPA, current status), The most difficult challenge and how I overcome, The most successful (or pleasant) experience and why...
With Hiring manager - Tell me about yourself, tell me about your project (I had portfolio and he picked one specifically)...
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at NBCUniversal
Interview
Straight forward and no surprises. Phone interview w/HR, then phone interview w/ hiring manager, then in-person interview with hiring manager and their boss. The HR person never got back to me. I reached out to them several times. Their response -- "I'll get back to you next week" and they never did. In fairness to those potential candidates, honesty is appreciated. HR should let the candidates know they are no longer being considered for the position, not promise an update that never comes.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal in May 2016
Interview
I received an email saying I need to take an online interview about after three weeks I sent in my resume and portfolio. Interview questions asked about my education, current status, and video interview asking few questions. For example, what can you contribute to NBCUniversal? What do you know about NBCUniversal, etc. The recruiter was very nice and responsive.
Then I got a call from the recruiter shortly after and had another phone call interview with her. She was very nice, and it was very casual and nice. And I am still waiting for them to get back to me.
Make sure you know enough about the company and sound enthusiastic when you are talking in the interview, i think personality matters a lot too.
