I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (Boston, MA) in Aug 2017
Interview
This position was with an NBC Sports affiliate.
I was contacted by an NBC recruiter two weeks after applying online. He asked me the usual "tell me about yourself" in addition to my video production experience. Nothing too difficult - took about 10 minutes or so. They then scheduled an in-person interview with the NBC Sports affiliate (via email). The email took a few days to arrive after the recruiter phone call.
The in-person interview was split into two interviews. The first being with the executive producer and the second with the HR Specialist. The executive producer was very easy-going, personable, nothing too complex - walked through my resume, asked about my previous experience, etc. The conversation was enjoyable because he kept things loose while also keeping it "real". We kicked back and talked about sports half the time - ended up going 20 minutes overtime because of it. Good talk.
The HR Specialist was very welcoming. Walked through my resume but with more detail - took vigorous notes during my answers throughout. In addition, she gave an overview of NBC Sports Boston, explained benefits of working within NBCUniversal, and touched on the culture within the workplace. Afterwards, she gave me a tour of the station - met a few employees along the way. Since the interview was in the morning nobody was really there yet, but the vibe was not too bad.
Overall solid experience. Genuine people.
It has been several weeks and I have not heard back from them (ghost rejection).
But it is what it is.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (Burlington, MA) in Mar 2017
Interview
I applied online and they emailed me for a phone interview. The phone interview went well and the recruiter was professional. It was exactly a great fit on either side, but I was still a little interested, so was a bit disappointed when I never heard back at all. An email at least noting the position has been filled would have been nice.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They did ask me about sports since they are affiliated with local sport newscasting. When I responded that I love local sports, I felt they then thought that is why I was applying for the job, when it wasn't, at all.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (New York, NY)
Interview
After having been referred by a professor who was a former employee, I was called to take part in a 20 minute phone call. That led me to an inperson internview a week later. Afterwards I was offered the position the same day.
