I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (New York, NY) in Sep 2020
Interview
It was easy, self-explanatory questions. I was prompted with several questions and then had about a minute to respond. I think for my internship, there were maybe four or five questions asked, and they were mainly behavioral.
The "video interview," while efficient from an HR perspective, was extremely impersonal and awkward. Having to watch yourself give the interview and then no do-overs is excruciating. I understand that they receive thousands of applications but if Disney (which uses the same application hub) can find the time to do a phone interview, so can NBC Universal.
I applied online. I interviewed at NBCUniversal in Feb 2021
Interview
After the initial application I was asked to complete a pre recorded video interview with both video and written questions. All questions were very basic/standard (tell us about yourself etc). You only get 20 seconds to read the question and 1 minute and 30 seconds to answer. I found this process to be much more stressful then an in-person or live video interview because you had no person on the other end to connect with and I felt the pressure of keeping my answers to the exact time allowed. Overall the process was pretty straight forward and easy though.
