Interview
I have never felt so mistreated during a selection process.
I'm going to tell you about my experience with the company but it could be very different from yours as I realized that they don't have a well-structured selection process.
I applied for the position on Linkedin and a few days later they called me for an interview.
During 100% of my interactions with the recruiting team they were very rude and disrespectful. I had this feeling since the 1st interaction.
The 1st interview was with a recruiter who presented some ppts about the company and asked some generic questions about my career.
Then they sent an online test to take on Codility. There were 2 Leetcode style problems and some objective questions about propositional logic. I got a good grade on the test so I moved on to the next stage.
Then I had 2 interviews with 2 different managers, 3 interviews with other engineers, and 2 more with other more experienced engineers. In total I think 8 or 9 people interviewed me.
I had to really push for them to share some information about what to expect about the interviews. They didn't want to share.
Every person who interviewed me clearly didn't know what to ask and repeated the same questions over and over again. For example, "you've already worked with java, right? What have you done in the language?", or "what do you know about azure?". Two of the people who interviewed me said they didn't even know why they were asked to interview me.
One of the few pieces of information I got about the process is that they don't do live coding. But as the interviewers didn't really know what to ask, one of the interviewers thought it would be cool to do a live coding exercise. Two weeks after doing the "last interview" they asked me to do another "last interview".
Finally, one of the managers got in touch and said that the team really liked me and they were going to make me an offer. Then the recruiter sent me a message and asked me to do something that I wasn't comfortable with, it was kind of against the law and had nothing to do with the offer. As I refused he decided not to make an offer.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Motorola Solutions (Bengaluru) in Jun 2024
