I applied online. I interviewed at Midas (Edimburgo, Escocia) in Mar 2015
Interview
I was called in for a brief interview where I was asked why I wanted to work there even though they didn't tell us what the job role was. I was told I got through to the final selection stage, all I was told was to dress warm so I did but wore heels. I turned up on the day maybe expecting a few group exercises and an interview. On the day we were given a very misleading PowerPoint then told we'd be shadowing an employee. At which point I got put on a bus to Curie (the middle of no-where) and finally got told we were doing door to door. So I had to walk around Curie which is very hilly from two until half eight, with one break at five. A real interview horror story.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Midas (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2012
Interview
Simple, to the point. Phone screen followed by an appointment to meet Manager. Half day interview with manager, they made the hiring decisions. Easy interviewer, probably just checking for the right experience and know how to fit into new culture and group dynamic. Research the company before going, and learn about the other links in the company chain now that there are multiple companies under one umbrella. Having a sense of how each company can fit together with purchasing, inventory, sales would help during the interview.
