Mecca Brands interview questions

I arrived on time and prompt, and saw the manager was in the middle of an interview, I waited politely and got myself a coffee only to be waiting an extra fifteen Minutes for the interview to commence. It’s important to note here my interview was meant to last half an hour and it only ended up lasting fifteen minutes and the manager rushed me to finish my questions and interrupted me mid conversation to say that “it was nice meeting you” and promoted me to leave with an awkward forced hug. The interview consisted of two to three generic interview questions only to be followed by asking my response to gossiping and bad relations in a team. I responded with a mature action of not involving myself or reporting to management if the issue was severe, however, after this response she prompted me further to ask how I would deal with another Mecca girl talking negatively about other team members to me, clearly this issue occurs frequently in this company as she expressed its importance immensely. The manager came across very rehearsed and not actually interested about me as a person and focused more on if I could handle the job then what I could bring to the position. She expressed how many applicants she had and how many she was interviewing in a way that really showed she wasn’t interested in what I had to say, especially given mid conversation she cut me off and said it was nice to meet me. I was meant to be provided half an hour and was only given fifteen minutes therefore didn’t even get to finish my coffee. Overall I felt as though this woman had made her decision from the moment she looked at me. Following this I was told I would hear back by Monday and I didn’t receiving anything until Friday the following week.

I was invited to an interview a good three weeks after I applied - I had forgotten I'd even done it. The first interview with the manager was really good, we discussed my experience and the store values and what I would bring to the workplace. I was then invited to a second interview (for a one shift a week role? Seemed excessive) with the Regional Manager and Assistant Store Manager. I thought this also went well, we discussed the team culture and the training processes and made sure I was happy with the hours and the sales style. I have a lot of sales and retail experience in a similar target market so I thought I was a prime candidate, and the Managers were responding as if they thought the same thing. Until I received a very generic email (with punctuation errors near my name so it's obvious it was a copy and paste) which I thought was really slack after two very good interviews. No reason was given in the email either, so after a positive interviewing experience this left a bad taste in the mouth.
