Mastercard Director, Customer Performance interview questions

Standard approach, HR screening call, then 60minute interview with the hiring manager where I presented back work completed on a case study they had sent me. Then it should have been a 3rd stage with a VP (Hiring manager advised during the call he would be putting me forward for the final stage). HOWEVER, he lied. After 2 weeks of chasing for an update I was told he would not be putting me for to the final round - no reason given. Finally received the standard rejection email. The HR rep did call me to give the same update but had not details from the hiring manager as to the reason...she did her best though.
