Marsh interview questions

I applied for two (2) roles here in this company. Role 1 I applied through LinkedIn. Role 2, I am not aware of the posting but a Recruiter has messaged me on LinkedIn and said "I saw your profile and would like to discuss an opportunity with you, please apply using the link" so I did my due diligence and looks legit since the posting on linked in has her profile as the recruiter. I was so happy since I think that I have a fighting chance since it was the recruiter who messaged me first. So when I got the phone interview for Role 1, she asked if I have other outstanding application with the company, so i said YES and its was the recruiter who messaged me first. So I gave her the Job reference # and she told me that Role 2 has closed and already hired TWENTY people. For Role 1, their salary for the role did not met my expectations. What I am disappointed is Role 2 never gave me a chance despite recruiter reaching out first, I made a two follow ups but never got any response and just ghosted me. Please do not play with people's emotions. If the role has closed then just send a rejection email or reply to the message who you started first saying the role has closed. Total waste of time.
