I attended an interview with the HR Services Assistant Manager in Singapore for one hour. The interview primarily focused on my work experience and behavioural questions related to the workplace. The interview format is more of a Q&A session than a two-way conversation. Overall, the interview experience was acceptable; however, the lack of communication regarding the interview outcome is unprofessional. Despite several follow-up attempts made within a reasonable timeframe, I did not receive any response, which I found disrespectful and not in line with the professional standards expected from a representative of a multinational corporation.
While it is understandable that HR representatives may face challenges in responding to every applicant for their openings, candidates who have invested their time in an interview deserve at least a brief update on their application status, regardless of whether the outcome is positive or negative. Deliberately ignoring candidates can harm an employer's brand and reflect poorly on the organisation.
