I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lumen in Oct 2010
Interview
The recruiter gave me a call to ask some basic questions like, are you still interested in the position? do you have experience in customer service or sales, and then gave me a date and time on an interview. When I went to the interview it was like a job fair type of environment, where the recruiter talked about the position and explained that we would be interviewed individually by the supervisors. In my one on one interview I was asked about my sales experience, how I felt about commission based environment and ensured the training would teach me everything I needed to know about operating systems and how to be a great salesman. A week later I received a call from the recruiter to offer me the position.

Interview
It was really easy. They e-mailed me immediately after I took the tests at home, the next day I had the phone interview, and the day after I had the face-to-face interview. Took about a week and a half for the drug test and background check, but everything was smooth sailing.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Lumen (Minneapolis, MN)
Interview
I took two proficiency tests in the application process. One was for MS Word and Excel proficiency and general computer skills (typing speed, etc.), and the other was a basic reading, knowledge, etc. type of "STAR" test. Neither of them was very difficult and certainly should not pose a barrier to someone with a good high school education or college degree.
