The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Gilbert, AZ) in Aug 2010
Interview
Everyone in the process from the HR Generalist to the Operations Manager were very pleasant and professional.
I was first contacted by phone after applying online by the Gerneralist. I answered a few qualifying questions during that call and was scheduled for an in house interview 3 days later. I arrived 5 minutes early for the interview and was given a packet to fill out and some general info about the company. About 25 minutes later I was interviewed by the generalist and then asked to wait for the manager. 25 or 30 minutes later I was escourted into an office to meet the Ops Mgr. He asked me a list of canned questions while taking notes then asked about my prior management experience. I answered all of his questions and was suprised my his response that they would not be able to hire me because "he knew I would leave as soon as something better came along". He proved to me that he really didn't know too much. Everyone knows what is said about assumptions. I have always admired the atmosphere maintained by Lowe's employee's. They seem to enjoy working for the company and I was really looking forward to working in such an environment. Today I no longer even shop there.

I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Wilkesboro, NC) in Jul 2010
Interview
I had two interviews one with with the supervisor and one with the director. Both interviews were engaging and very informative. I found both gentleman approachable and would have like to get the position. It came down to had more experience in the end and someone else got the position but I did get a call from the supervisor informing of the decision and that he would keep me in mind for future positions.
