I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kumon (Perth, Australia Occidental)
Interview
Telephone screening of the usual questions with the franchisee. Then given a 3 hour trial of marking during a typical day. This was unpaid of course.
Received no feedback on the day. Was then sent a message from one of the minions that they couldn't afford me. There had been absolutely no discussion about pay! I suspect that each centre could be different and it really depends on the franchisee. Most of the assistants are uni students and most were not studying teaching. This role is all about marking worksheets.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kumon
Interview
My interview literally did not occur. I went in for a meeting with the employer and they just put me to work that day, hiring me sans questioning. Since then, I have not seen an interview take place for any candidate and/or new workers.
During the interview the interviewer started with basic interview questions such as what I was currently doing, whether I was in school, etc. They asked me about my math skills and then verbally tested me by giving me some multiplication questions. I was then given 30 minutes to complete a few of the Kumon work booklets, which the interviewer graded as soon as I was done. I got two or three questions wrong but I was not penalized on it.
