I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kumon (Melbourne) in Sep 2017
Interview
Instead of a regular interview, my employer provided me with a maths and english test. Both had 30 questions. Being a 16 yr old, I received tests around year 9 level.
I applied online. I interviewed at Kumon (Londres, Inglaterra) in Sep 2017
Interview
The interview process took two months. I applied to the offer and I wasn't answered until three weeks after. They called me to make a phone interview. The woman talking to was supposed to be the former senior designer in the company but her questions weren't really focused on design... they were more about general life. She asked me a lot of questions, most of them repetitive and obvious. She informed me after the phone interview there would be a meeting talking about the company, either in London or other city in England that I would have to attend to be considered. I accepted. After some days they mailed me saying I had passed and I had been invited to the meeting. They gave me date an hour, and fortunately it was in London. The meeting was going to be three weeks after and it was scheduled this way:
Agenda Time
Registration 8:45-9:15
Tests 9:30-10:30
Break 10:30-10:45
Orientation part 1 10:45-12:45
Lunch 12:45-13:45
They changed the time to start 4 times. Finally the day arrived. I went to the place and there was more people, they made us complete a test. 10 second for around 50 simple maths questions, 10 seconds for geometric shapes test and 10 seconds for a counting test. After finishing the test the man told us "don't worry this isn't going to be all the percentage to decide if you stay or not". We enter to a room and there were like 5 people on the back observing and taking notes of us while another person started to "sell" to us how perfect is the Kumon Method. Apart from my opinion about it, this meeting was good for the people coming as teacher assistant, for the people coming as a designer being told that maths is the most important above creativity.... After this time chatting about how perfect was the system they gave us some sandwich and all the people from the company disappeared without saying anything. Two hours later they came and asked the other designer and me to go out and they told me I could go home. There was no interview at all, no question, nothing to interact about and obviously no conversation about design. It was a total lost of time and money to go and listen them.
Just after this weir meeting I saw they had posted again the offer while the metting was being held.
