I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kumon (New York, NY) in Aug 2013
Interview
Students applying have to take a test. The instructor will assign a math and reading test to you based on your grade level in school. You come into the center one of the operating days and take the test. Based on your performance, the instructor may call you back or not. It's best if you have someone working at Kumon who recommends you; that's mainly how I got my job aside from the test.
The director goes over the idea of what the compnay is about and what they do as an assistant. Everything is based on growth and experience. You will take a math test to see your skills up to fractions in 25 minutes, about 40 questions.
