I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kroger (Troy, MI) in Feb 2011
Interview
The hiring process was a simple one in hind sight. I was asked to come in and discuss some basic interview questions such as how I responded to conflict. I recalled some instances in my previous job situations where there was a conflict and how I dealt with it. I focused on discussing my problem solving skills especially with regard to mediating between two parties who could not agree with each other, while advancing communication skillfully and respectfully. I was also interviewed by another bagger and was allowed to ask some questions about the actual nature of the job itself, such as job specifics, hours, break times, details like that. I also asked some other logistic questions about attire and uniform, also if we could receive discounts, things like that.
