I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kroger in Dec 2013
Interview
It really surprised me how easy the interview process was. They will hire anyone with availability and who passes their drug test. They set up a group interview and slowly start letting people go

Question 1
Why do you think you are suitable for this position.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kroger in Oct 2015
Interview
Applied online for a new store openings twice, took about a month and a half to get a call back, because of the hundreds that had applied. Got a voice mail, because I was away from my phone with some ID/code to do a phone interview, then sent an email for an in person interview. The interview was a group interview, we filled out a sheet with some basic questions and introduced ourselves to each other. Then she split us into two teams of five to do a sales pitch with three or so products of our choosing all had to say something about it. After that she gave some feed back then called half out into the hall to dismiss them came back in and offered the remainder a job. We filled out some paperwork, did a swab drug test and she asked if we were ok with the department we were randomly assigned b/c it was a new store. Then she gave me a piece of paper that had the orientation info. Only thing I must say about it after was I had a relative apply for the same store they told them no b/c family can't work at the same store, in my department we had two sets of siblings who got the same shifts, and there were a total of four or five sets in the whole store one was of twins who I believe interviewed together, only way they knew was my aunt mentioned it casually in the interview.btw it was the same person for all of this
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
phone interview: 1.how'd you find out?
2.why do you want to work here?
3.Previous experience?
4.are you ok with this department?
group interview: we had paper to fill out with these questions, we ended up sharing with the group after
name? age? favourite product(s) the store caries? favourite colour? favourite holiday? Birthday? etc.
we also did some questions like why are you here? Previous jobs and the like, but those were from amongst ourselves, the interviewer mostly sat back to see how we interacted with each other.
