I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kmart (Raleigh, NC) in Jun 2012
Interview
Brief interview, was asked about experience. Ended up being offered data integrity specialist job instead of cashier due to education and personality. After being offered and accepting the job, it took several weeks for them to give me anymore information and get me working.

Interview
To apply, you must apply online at home or in store using the kiosk. You fill out an application online amd once that is submitted you take some assessments. They were pretty much common sense and scenario type questions centered around customer service. I think there also were a few math questions as in "how much change should Jane doe receive back if the total was ... and she gave you a ten dollar bill".
The interview was fairly typical, and fairly easy. It mainly consisted of being asked to fill out and sign certain forms. It was more like the process that goes on after an interview and once you have been chosen for the position. I had worked there 15 years prior, I am not sure if that had something to do with it or not.
Upon the end of the interview I was told to come in amd start that night by 5 pm. I was a bit shocked, but I needed a job and so I got to work.
