I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kmart in Jan 2016
Interview
Applied on December 15, 2015. Finally received a call on January 11, 2016. Was asked to come in for an interview on Saturday, January 16, 2016.
She asked me two questions; availability and work history. Basically, if they call you in for an interview, you have the job. She informed that I will receive a few emails in the next few hours, and if I don't receive them, call her on that following Monday.
Monday had came and I still hadn't received any emails. So I had planned to call her around noon, but the emails came through at 12:16 pm.
I did as instructed with the emails. And figured that I should call her, and let her know, but I wasn't quite sure. I decided to wait until Tuesday to call her.
I spoke to her Tuesday, and she said 'okay, I'll review it then give you a call back.' The next day, I received a call from her. She said that she was having problems with the system, and sent a 'help ticket', and was waiting on that before she could proceed with my hiring process. She said that she would call me when everything gets worked out.
That following day, she called back, and left a voicemail, informing me to come in that following Tuesday for an orientation.
Now, here it is Tuesday, the day of my orientation. I am supposed to be there at 4pm, and it's 7:45 am. I decided to post this to help anyone else applying to Kmart.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Kmart (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2012
Interview
They asked why I thought I was qualified for pisition. It was short interview with store director. Then you interviewed with another management. They did not offer any indication if you were going to be hired. They read from a script the interaction was not friendly more mechanical. Then you were told to. thank you for your interest.
