John Lewis & Partners interview questions

I interviewed twice for this position 12 months apart. I was given a take-home task to build a ETL pipeline using SQL/Python/docker before even getting a face-to-face. I did not get through the first time due to not enough comments on my code. Tried a year later and improved the commenting, then to be told the ‘SQL could have been better’ even though it was the same SQL I used the year before.

The process took a hour or so. We participated in group exercises and interview questions were asked on a one to one basis. The process was easy going and I didn’t feel pressured or nervous and it was welcoming.
