The interview process was little mixed up. After initial discussion with someone from HR team, they scheduled a phone interview. However, it was found that interviewer's skills doesn't match mine (or the team it's hiring for). It's weird. So we had to re-schedule with someone else. During the interview I was asked about basic JS things like async, callback, promise etc.
Then I was invited for onsite interview. I was totally blown away seeing their incredible office and the hudson river view from the office. About 5 persons interviewed me and almost all were good. I just started feeling uncomfortable when one of the interviewers repeatedly showing he is unable to understand my English. I admit, I'm not a native speaker but I never had that problem that someone faces that much problem. I just felt he is exaggerating the problem.
Technically, all the interviews were good. However, interviewers seemed little less open/friendly than I experienced in other places.
We had to cancel the interview with the last person due to unavoidable circumstances (got some urgent production issues - we all face it, right? :P) which is totally understandable and I was said that I'll be contacted again for that one. However, a week later, I got an email that they decided to decline candidacy.
I was really surprised about the news because not only I was expecting another interview but also I had a confidence that I did very good. Yes, I wasn't perfect; I didn't make 100% correct answers (I really doubt if I answered 100% correctly in any of the jobs I got so far); but I believed I did very good. Just an example that one interviewer said "You seem to have very good idea about Javascript functional programming".
I requested little more details about their expectations (just to align my understanding and find own lacking) but I didn't get any response in over a week.
