Most unprofessional recruiting experience I have ever had. Sequence of events:
• Relatively straightforward intro call
• Invited to put together a case study — which I spent a massive amount of time and effort on
• After submitting, I was told the position was filled by an internal candidate
• Recruiting team offered to circulate my case study internally to find other PM positions available
• Successfully found another role that met my qualifications, had second interview with Sr. PM lead which resulted in an invite for an on-site at Hoboken HQ (I'm on west coast)
• Changed flights/previous plans to NY to fit in Jet interview
• Day before my flight, they said they already offered the role to another candidate
Not once, but twice was there a massive communication breakdown and overall sloppiness. I am not upset I didn't get the role — I'm upset I spend one minute working with Jet; a massive waste of valuable time.
Lesson learned: never commit to creating a case study too early in interview process.
