so Shamus, the recruiter calls you asks for a 10 minute phone interview, then if he likes you he will call you into the office and meet with you, look over your resume and give you a tour. if that goes well you'll be invited to a panel interview, if you pass that there's ANOTHER panel interview- so 4 interviews in total before you get hired.
The part that made me super mad and upset was everything that happened POST interview. I know my situation will be unique but it definitely shows the true colors of some in the company. Shamus the recruiter, another employee and I all had worked for the same company at one point- I am currently there. Post interview I didn't hear anything, just a impersonalized rejection that said I wasn't going to make it to the final stage. That's fine, I can take that, but when I asked for feedback on the interview and why, I got no answers. Shamus said he would call me a couple times, and said Monday to contact him. When I called I kept getting forwarded to VM. Okay, no big deal, I go into work that day and my co-worker, who knew our former co-worker now working at Jet, said this girl was texting him at our place of work asking about my employment status there. He asked her why she was asking him this if she doesn't work with Shamus as a recruiter, and she then continued to say I was a liar and had lied on my application there so she want to check if I even still work there!!! My friend at work replies that I do and asks why when it isn't her job to check this stuff why is she doing it. She responds that the recruiter Shamus told her to check up on some stuff for him... I try to reach out to her and find out what the ground are for this, and then I try to call and message Shamus, and he doesn't respond to me.
Not only is this unprofessional but I'm pretty sure it's a complete invasion of privacy for someone who isn't a recruiter to be snooping around with my coworkers about ME. If Shamus had a question- why not call my references, or my SUPERVISOR directly, who knew I was interviewing with them? Or even if he didn't truly instigate it, why would someone who I don't know have access to my personal information and be asking around? She would have had to find out I was interviewing there and other personal things about me in the process. Why use sneaky and shady methods to collect information that you don't know is true or not true and then make a hiring decision based off that? I still feel shocked and hurt by everything that's happened.
Any company who would allow this kind oh behavior from their employees is not one I would want to be associated with. They claim they have good culture and open communication but if stuff like this is happening in the hiring process then I call bullcrap on the rest of their values.
