I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at IKEA (Stoughton, MA)
Interview
This is my one complaint. The hiring process was so incredibly drawn out. I applied in late March/early April of 2009, was interviewed in May and I didn't start work until June. And this was to semi-urgently fill the vacant position. The interview process itself was decent, you go into a cozy little room decorated and outfitted with Ikea furniture (naturally) the interviewers were friendly, they ask thought-provoking questions, and sometimes you may be asked to come in for a second interview.

Question 1
I don't recall any specific questions. They weren't humdingers like Google has, but they do require you to think.
I was interviewed by two people. They were very friendly and it was quite informal. They gave me plenty of time to ask my own questions. Overall, it was about as pleasant as an interview could be.
Round 1:
-Getting to know you type of questions
-Situation type of questions and how would you handle them
Round 2:
-Getting to know you
-Why do you want to work at ikea
-Questions for them

Question 1
When was the time you are dealing with a difficult customer and how did you resolve it
Phone screening, then In person interview, basic questions, then drug test and phone screening. Overall took two weeks from start to finish, but you have to get a drug test
