I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hertz (New York, NY) in Nov 2014
Interview
great it was quite easy, they just asked questions relating to my resume. How do I deal with irate customers. Questions about managing unionized workforce came up. Overall, I received the job do to my sales based experience and supervisory skills.
I applied online. I interviewed at Hertz in Jan 2015
Interview
Applied online, received email within a few days requesting a phone interview with HR. On the same call, I was asked if I would like to interview with the hiring managers. The HR Rep basically wants to know your availability and how open you are to working many varied shifts. If you are not flexible in your schedule, you will not get an invite to interview further.

Question 1
Managers are expected to put in hours well above 40 and the location is open 24/7/365. How do you feel about working nights and weekends and up to 50-60 hours/week?
I applied through other source. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Hertz
Interview
After talking to my then Area Manager about the position, I applied for the job. I was then interviewed on the phone by the Human Resource Partner, which took approximately 45 mins. They did also instruct me to do an online survey that gauges my personality type. The questions were textbook behavioural questions/scenarios. I was then told that there were going to be another interview with another person. The next interview was over the phone yet again. It was similar timing and process as the first. The whole process for me took 4 months, from the initial application to the decision. There were little updates to the progress, even when it was an internal hire.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Would you be willing to stay more than a year? This question made me realize the turnovers for the position that I applied for. This technically is not the most difficult question however, it is a question for which should have been a red flag on the job itself.
