I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HelloFresh (Berlín) in May 2020
Interview
I was referred by a friend. I got the HR introduction call scheduled for the next day. After the introduction, I was given a choice to choose between a take-home project or a live coding session. I picked the live coding session to save some time.
The coding session was for 45 minutes with a staff engineer where the code has to be done in 30 mins on HackerRank. The rest 15 mins were for discussions. I had really fun discussion with the interviewer. He was quite friendly.
Next was a technical discussion with a squad leader. He was very humble and friendly. We discussed my experience and technology around it. Then I had a CTO call, which was amazing. I am quite impressed with the vision and leadership of Nuno. After 2 daysof which I was offered a position.
Overall I am quite happy with the process. It was good to have a choice between a GitHub assignment and coding session. The process was smooth with good communication. I got regular feedbacks too.

Question 1
Data manipulation coding question. Focus on speed and accuracy. Experience based technical questions

Interview
HR Telephonic for the next steps, Github Assignment supposed to be reviewed by an expert.
The test was titled bla-Golang-bla, but I used Python (since that's what my resume says), with asynchronous calls to serve each request. Wrote thorough tests and the deployment scripts. They took a couple of days to respond back, I guess they were looking for a Python developer to review. Out of 4 of the comments that the reviewer wrote, I found 3 to be OK (he DID NOT point any mistake or give an optimization suggestion) while one of his comments was wrong, and I politely corrected him. Got a no-go after 2 days.

Interview
HR screen call, then technical assessment that have to be complete within a week, after the you pass the tech assessment, the VP engineering of engineering would have a one hour interview.
HR interview was below expectation, looks like she is an intern, shallow questions, bureaucratic.
The assessment needs a lot of work, but it's a very good chalange, I passed it succesfully, and VP of engineering review it himself and he was happy about it.
The HR scheduled an interview with the VP of engineering (who reviewed the assessment) and he didn't show up for the interview.
And that's it !
No response from the HR or the VP of engineering for more than a month, I thought maybe they found the right candidate, but still the vacancy is open.
This behavior reflects the quality of people you are going to work with .. it was a total waste of time to me, and they showed unprofessional attitude.
