      Catastrophe Model Developer Interview

      Apr 10, 2013
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Londres, Inglaterra
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Guy Carpenter (Londres, Inglaterra) in Mar 2013

      Interview

I applied for this position through a recruitment agency. The fact that there was no job description, as the position was not officially advertised, made preparation quite difficult. However, both the interviewers were extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable from the first minute. In the first part of the interview we were discussing about my background(studies, working experince) and they seemed particularly interested in my research work. The second part of the interview was more about the role and how I could be possible fit in with their team. There were some technical questions about the cat models I have worked in the past, but they were not looking for very detailed answers (mainly the typical framework of such models). The critical requirement for this position was the exposure in Reinsurance Industry and Catastrophe Models. Communication and teamworking skills were also greatly appreciated.
